'Big Fat Cat' Reading
By Heidur • 04 Dec 2007
On the 7th of December, Annaleigh will take part in a reading of the new musical 'Big Fat Cat' at Ripley-Grier Studios.
This is being presented by the New York Theater Barn and its by invitaton only.
Here is what the press notes say the musical is about:"On her 37th birthday, Terry (Christiane Noll), a lonely but talented anklet maker desperately wishes on an anklet for a man to give her life meaning. Her wish comes true - well, sort of... Instead of the perfect man, she gets Big Fat Cat (Bruce Vilanch) - a stray overweight feline with lousy manners, questionable values, and a potent fixation on catnip and cream. BFC takes a reluctant Terry on a journey of self-discovery through a colorful world that includes self-obsessed co-workers, an eligible bachelor, his nebbish best friend and the overrated concept of wishing. Big Fat Cat is for everyone who has wished upon that star and then regretted it for the rest of their lives,"
Big Fat Cat is directed by Tim Bennett and other actors in this alongside Annaleigh are Bruce Vilanch, Christiane Noll, Burke Moses, Tiffany Westlie, and Jamie LaVerdiere.Source

Also, an extra performance of Wicked will be presented Dec. 2 at 8 PM to benefit the Actors Fund of America.
Several Broadway shows a year add an extra performance to benefit the non-profit organization that provides support for those in the entertainment industry. Members of the cast and company donate their time for the special performance.
Tickets for the added performance, priced $61.25-$251.25, are available by calling (212) 307-4100, (800) 755-4000 or by visiting the Gershwin box office at 222 West 51st Street.Source

Annaleigh was interviewed by MTV about the strike ending. This is what she said:"Vocally, it's important to sing every day," said Annaleigh Ashford, who stars as Glinda in "Wicked." "It's a muscle, and you have to keep it in shape. So it's usually harder to come back and freestyle." Ashford said that doing eight shows a week on Broadway, an actor's day revolves around getting prepared for 8 p.m. show time. "So you wind down at 4 p.m., you warm up at 7:30," she said.

North Jersey Media did an article about the strike ending and Annaleigh was interviewed. Here is what she had to say:"I'm so happy to get back to the theater; after all, there's no place like home,'' said Annaleigh Ashford, who plays Glinda in "Wicked,"' a quasi-prequel to "The Wizard of Oz.''

Also, I just found this article about Heather Hach from the Denver Post. For those who don't know, Heather is the writer of Legally Blonde.
Well Annaleigh talked a bit in the article. This is what she had to say:"That song might as well be Heather's song," says Denver native Annaleigh Ashford Swanson, who is making her Broadway debut playing Elle's sorority sister Margot.
"She's a woman standing up and doing what she wants to do on her own," Ashford says of Elle. "She's going for it, and that's exactly what Heather did, too."

Yes you heard right, the strike ended yesterday and Broadway is finally open again.
The opening night was last night and the NY times has done an article about it.
They mentioned Annaleigh and Wicked. This is what they said:At “Wicked,” the crew had to put water in the bubble-making contraption that carried the actress Annaleigh Ashford across the stage before her opening line, which took on multiple meanings: “It’s good to see me, isn’t it?”
